Data Sources

CityOasis combines open map data with information contributed by the CityOasis community.

OpenStreetMap

Place listings, map tiles, fallback amenity data, place-search results, and nearby public parking may come from OpenStreetMap or services that work with OpenStreetMap data. CityOasis uses Overpass to retrieve place and map data and nearby parking that OpenStreetMap explicitly marks with public or permissive access, and Nominatim for place search.

CityOasis community

Amenity information may also come from CityOasis community contributions. Depending on the amenity, community information may override or complement fallback information derived from OpenStreetMap. For parking, community votes describe on-site or customer parking, while qualifying nearby public parking is detected separately from OpenStreetMap through Overpass; either source can satisfy the Parking filter.

Freshness and accuracy

Open data and community information can be incomplete, inconsistent, or outdated. CityOasis does not guarantee that a listed amenity is present, operating, or available at the time of your visit.
